On July 30, 2012 at Tbilisi State Medical University the award ceremony was held for the medical students and residents of Yerevan State Medical University. In the frames of the bilateral academic exchange program these students completed clinical course at TSMU clinics:

- Advanced Medical Technology Center, University Clinic

- TSMU Givi Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic

-  Apolon Urushadze University Dental Clinic

In the frames of the same program 20 students of TSMU are having clinical internship at Yerevan State Medical University Clinics.

The program goal is to develop bilateral relationship, to support sharing clinical experience and prepare highly-qualified staff.

The organizer of the project is Tbilisi State Medical University and it is supported by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia.

The event was attended by the first Deputy Minister of Labor, Health, and Social Affairs, Irakli Giorgobiani, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Deputy Rectors Giorgi Abesadze and Prof. Rima Beriashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Tinatin Chikovani, President of Student Government, Giga Sordia and  the Organizers of the program: Irakli Gvilava and Gogi Chikovani.

During the summer course the foreign students participated in social programs, saw the sight of Tbilisi and Mtskheta, visited to Svetitskhoveli, Jvari Monastery and the National and Ethnographic museums of Georgia.
