The Currency and Banking
The currency in Georgia is Georgian Lari (GEL). As for February 2018, the exchange rate of GEL is: 1 USD – 2.46 GEL; 1 EUR – 3.04 GEL. Banks are open from 10:00 through 17:00 from Monday to Saturdays. All banks provide 24-hour cash machines, which accept most credit cards, such as Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or American Express. The plentiful Exchange Offices are available throughout the city.
Climate and time
The average temperature in Tbilisi in May is 20-24°C. A raincoat or umbrella for frequent shower will be useful. The time zone in Georgia is GMT+4.

Only large hotels, restaurants and stores accept credit cards. So, it's recommended that visitors carry cash in the form of Georgian Lari (Only Georgian Lari is accepted as a payment.) at all times for everyday expenses.
