Objectives of the study course: The aim of the program is the development of scientific research skills in students and teaching main principles of research methodology; formulation of research question, scientific database searching, critical assessment of scientific literature and formation of conclusion making ability.
In addition, students should develop basic laboratory and scientific research skills. Study the basic principles and manipulations of safe work in the laboratory.
Teaching & learning methods: Practical classes-seminars; Usage of informative-communication technologies and library resources; Mastering students in scientific databases searching, research and export of information from scientific databases according to his/her scientific interest; Critical thinking, analysis, discussion; Teaching presentation preparation.
Study course outcomes/competencies: After the completion of the study course the student knows how to develop research hypothesis and research proposal; knows different types of research designs, the ethical principles in research with human participation, as well as in studies conducted on animals. He/she is familiar with the basic principles of processing and presentation of statistical data in biomedical studies, establishment of components of scientific paper and public presentation of the performed scientific work; Additionally, understanding of main principles and manipulations in laboratory, safe work and ethical care with lab animals.
