Due to collaboration between Tbilisi State Medical University and French Academy of Management and Performance “UniMan” and with support from the TSMU Rector, Prof. Z. Vadachkoria and Prof. B. Zurashvili, since 2012 the educational program “Public Health and Management” has been initiated at the Faculty of Public Health.
The memorandum of collaboration has been signed with our faculty and the Caucas University of Turkey that is exchange program “Mevlana” for teachers and professors. Within this project Head of Department of Nutrition and Aging Medicine, professor Shalva Zarnadze gave lectures on a current issues of Public Health during 26-th of April and 8-th of May, totally 24 hours.
Within the “Erasmus Mundus” program in 2015 during a six months PhD student Jilda Cheishvili was sent to the Chester University in order to conduct scientific work, she in January of 2018 defended her scientific thesis and received PhD degree in Public Health.
Professor Levan Baramidze, head of Department of Public Health, Management, Policy and Economy and associate professor Irine Zarnadze, were participants of summer school that was organized by the Hamburg University in 2015 during August 31 - September 11 and was dedicated to Addictology. Later with the support from Prof. L. Baramidze and the Department staff, training in addictology has been implemented at their Department within the program TEMPUS.
The memorandum of collaboration has been signed with the Wuhan University of Medicine China that considers bilateral collaboration, specifically short-term duration internship of students and teachers, joint scientific investigations and publications, and other type of collaborations.
Other memorandum of collaboration has been signed with the department of Public Health, Erevan State Medical University in December, 2012. The collaboration considers educational and scientific activities. According to memorandum the international school-seminars has been conducted annually in Bakuriani, in which bachelor and master degree students of TSMU as well as students and professors from the Erevan State Medical University are actively participating. The same meetings are conducted in Jermuki (Armenia), during the youth scientific conference.
In addition, with the Bergen University was developed collaboration in 2008, which is renewals every five years and considers bilateral cooperation in educational as well as in scientific fields.
Since 2017 International School in Public Health at the Tbilisi State Medical University has become a full member of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER).
