The medical subspecialty is the additional competence of the doctor-specialist who has the right to independent medical practice, which implies the use of prophylactic, diagnostic, medicinal or rehabilitation technology or method, or management of the disease of an organ or organ system. Requirement for obtaining certificate in subspecialty is passing the program approvedby the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia;
Subspecialty program can be passed in the institution accredited by the Professional Development Council of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairsof Georgia.
Only the specialists holding certificate in the corresponding specialty are subject to the right to pass the course and can obtain certificate in the subspecialty.
The list of medical specialties and relevant subspecialties is determined by the order of the Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia(# 136 /n April 18, 2007).
