Students at Tbilisi State Medical University will be able to reserve rooms in the dormitory prior to arrival. Detailed information regarding the booking procedures will be provided separately. Students are also encouraged to follow updates on the University’s official website.

3. How many females and how many male students will be accommodated?

Students residing in the dormitory of Tbilisi State Medical University will have the opportunity to choose their preferred type of room, either individual, single rooms, or multi-bed shared rooms. There are no fixed quotas distinguishing accommodation for male and female students.

4. What types of rooms will be available? (How many beds per room? What furniture will the rooms include?)

The dormitory of Tbilisi State Medical University will offer various types of accommodation, including both individual and shared rooms. Students will have the option to live alone or to share a room with several fellow students, depending on their preference.

5. Will services such as laundry, cafeteria, parking and others be provided?

The Tbilisi State Medical University dormitory will be equipped with an underground parking facility (with capacity for 25 vehicles), laundry services, a cafeteria, as well as common areas designated for student use.

6. Will there be green/recreational spaces?

The territory of the dormitory of Tbilisi State Medical University will include a recreational area of at least 450 square meters.

7. What will be the cost?

In parallel with the construction of the dormitory, Tbilisi State Medical University is actively working on administrative, financial, and legal issues. These procedures are essential to ensure the proper functioning of the facility. 8. When will the dormitory open?

The construction of the dormitory of Tbilisi State Medical University is currently in an active phase. As of today, the anticipated completion date is December 2025.

 Yes. At TSMU, first-year students are required to pay the full annual tuition upfront. From the second year onward, tuition can typically be paid in two equal installments — one per semester.

2. Is the NEET exam required for admission?

No, NEET is not required for admission to TSMU. However, if you are from a country like India, you may need NEET for: Licensing purposes after graduation in your home country Visa application requirements, depending on your country’s embassy regulations We recommend checking with your local medical council and the Georgian embassy in your country for the latest guidance.

3. Can my parent or relative submit my documents on my behalf?

Yes, your parents can submit your documents without a Power of Attorney.

However, if a relative or friend is submitting on your behalf, they must provide two notarized copies of a Power of Attorney, translated into Georgian.

4. What documents are required for the visa application?

 While visa requirements may vary by country, students typically need:

6. Is it possible to transfer from another university?

Yes, transfer students are welcome. You must provide two notarized copies of your academic transcript, translated into Georgian, either in person at the administration office or through one of TSMU’s official partner agencies.

7. What is the difference between the USMD and MD programs?

The USMD Program follows a U.S.-modeled medical curriculum, preparing students for exams like the USMLE. It is offered in collaboration between TSMU and Emory University in Atlanta, giving students the unique opportunity to spend a winter term at Emory University. The MD Program follows a European curriculum, which is widely recognized across Europe and Asia.

8. Do you offer any bachelor’s degree programs?

Yes, TSMU offers bachelor's programs in fields such as Pharmacy and Rehabilitation, in addition to the core medical tracks.

9. Are internships or clinical rotations included in the program?

Yes, clinical training and hospital rotations are part of the curriculum, especially in the later years of study.

11. Can I apply with my IGCSE, A-Level, or AS-Level qualifications?

Usually, we require A-Levels with at least three subjects (the specific subjects do not matter), or a diploma equivalent to a high school degree. All documents must be translated into Georgian and notarized.

12. Do I need to take an English proficiency test if I studied English at school?

Yes. All applicants must present an internationally recognized English certificate (B1 level or higher) such as IELTS, TOEFL or Pearson.

13. What is a power of attorney or notarization, and why is it required?

A Power of Attorney legally authorizes someone to act on your behalf. Notarization ensures that translated documents are valid and officially recognized in Georgia.

14. How long does the entire admission process take?

Depending on documentation and verification, the process typically takes 2–4 weeks after submission of all required materials.

15. How many intakes do you have per year, and when do they start?

TSMU has two main intakes: Fall Semester (currently accepting applications) The academic year typically begins in September or October. Spring Semester (application deadlines are typically announced in advance) The academic year typically begins in March.

16. Is English proficiency required for the Russian-language program?

No, English proficiency is not required for the Russian-language program. However, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Russian, which is assessed through an interview conducted by the university. English is mandatory only for English-taught programs.

17. Do you work with trusted student recruitment agencies?

18. Can I apply with predicted grades or submit some grades now and the rest later?

Finalized and notarized documents are required at the time of submission. Predicted grades alone are not accepted for admission.

The external mobility applicant should overcome the competence limit defined for the enrollment in the Faculty they wish to continue education. 


Tuition fee for all Georgian for one-Cycle educational and bachelor  educational programmes of Tbilisi State Medical University -  2250 GEL per year - for Georgian citizens.

International Faculty of Medicine and Stomatology:

  • Medical Doctor Program (English Medium) - tuition fee: 8.000 USD per year; 
  • Medical Doctor Program (Russian Medium) - tuition fee: 4.000 USD per year;
  • Dental Medicine Program (English medium) - tuition fee: 7.000 USD  per year; 
  • Dental Medicine Program (Russian Medium) - tuition fee: 4.000 USD  per year.

Faculty of Medicine:

  • US MD  Program   - Tuition fee for International students: 13 500 USD per year, for Georgian Citizens - 8000 GEL per year.
  • Georgian Medium - tuition fee: 4.000  USD  per year (for International students).

Faculty of Stomatology (Dentistry):

  • Georgian Medium - tuition fee: 4.000 USD per year (for International students).

Faculty of Pharmacy:

  • English Medium - tuition fee: 3.500 USD  per year;
Faculty of Public Health: 
  • Public Health and Management - Joint Georgian - French undergraduate program (Georgian Medium and English Medium): tuition fee – 4.000 USD per year (for Georgian Citizens – 4000 GEL).
Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation:
  • English Medium - tuition fee: 3.000 US$ per year.

Only those citizens of Georgia  have a right to study on Bachelor’s and one-cycle educational programmes at Tbilisi State Medical University who completed Unified National Exams in following subjects: 

  • Georgian Language and Literature;
  • Foreign Language;
  • Biology,
  • The fourth optional subject can be selected from the following- , chemistry, physics or mathematics.


Students intending to participate in internal mobility may have to submit an application addressed to the Rector and enclose the document confirming the  obtained  national examination scores (the document is available on the Address:  9, Mindeli Street).

External mobility shall be announced by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia twice a year at the end of semester prior to starting the new semester. 

Yes, the external mobility students will keep their state study grant.
