On November 14, 2022 Tbilisi State Medical University was visited by Professor Oliver Dewald Head of the Department of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, University Hospital Erlangen (Germany) and Honorary Doctor of TSMU Nikoloz Vashakmadze Head of the West Georgia Heart Centre. The guests were met by Professor Sophia Bakhtadze, Vice Rector of TSMU, Irina Kapetivadze Head of the Rector’s Office, Professor Rusudan Rukhadze Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Assoc. Prof. David Topuria Dean of International Faculty of Medicine and Stomatology and Salome Voronova Deputy Head of Academic Development and Strategic Planning Department. 

TSMU representatives talked about recent achievements of Tbilisi State Medical University. On the other hand, Professor Oliver Dewald spoke about the University Hospital Erlangen. The guests delivered public lectures for the TSMU students. 

Professor Oliver Dewald talked about the congenital heart defects surgery methods. Dr. Nikoloz Vashakmadze spoke about the successful 12 years spent at the University Hospital Oldenburg within the framework of the exchange program. 

The guests were awarded with memorable gifts at the end of the meeting.
