Academic and scientific cooperation between Tbilisi State Medical University and the Medical University of Warsaw (Poland) is entering a new stage of development. The expansion of the partnership was agreed upon during the visit of Professors Joanna Gottlieb-Małkowska and Gabriela Oledzka from the Medical University of Warsaw to TSMU.

The Polish professors held meetings with Professor Lela Maskhulia, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at TSMU, as well as with representatives of the university’s Department of International Relations. The parties discussed the implementation of professional training programs for TSMU students at the Medical University of Warsaw, scheduled for the summer of 2025.

The guests also visited TSMU’s Department of Medical Biology and Parasitology, where they became acquainted with the department's educational approaches and main research directions. Emphasis was placed on deepening the existing collaboration and exploring the potential for joint scientific research projects.

As part of the visit, the professors toured the TSMU Museum of Life Sciences and delivered public lectures for students and academic staff. The lectures focused on recent advancements in artificial intelligence in healthcare, as well as modern strategies for the prevention of bacterial and parasitic infections.

The visit was carried out within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Credit Mobility Project.
