თბილისის სახელმწიფო სამედიცინო უნივერსიტეტში პირველადი გადაუდებელი დახმარების ტრენინგი გაიმართა

First Aid Training at Tbilisi State Medical University

On January 24, 2025, within the framework of ERASMUS+ project “LIFESTRAND,” Tbilisi State Medical University hosted the First Aid Training. The training was organized at the Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center by Professor Irma Manjavidze, Head of the Master's Program "Pediatric Rehabilitation" and Chief Specialist Natia Kvariani. The training was attended by nearly 60 students enrolled on different programs of TSMU.

The session was conducted by: Gocha Mtvarelishvili, invited lecturer and anesthesiologist-resuscitator, Lia Otiashvili, assistant professor, pediatrician, and neonatologist and Nana Jikidze, chief specialist, invited lecturer, and pediatric resuscitator.

The training covered various topics, including: assessing vital signs, measuring pulse and blood pressure, techniques for removing foreign objects in children, emergency assistance in cases of bleeding and injuries, using a tourniquet for arterial bleeding, first aid for nosebleeds, bandaging techniques, anaging venous and capillary bleeding and basics of Basic Life Support (BLS).

The session was conducted in a practical and interactive discussion format, allowing participants to actively engage, ask questions, and improve their practical skills. The event attracted significant interest, highlighting the importance of deepening both theoretical and practical knowledge in emergency care, not only as part of medical education but also in clinical practice.
