Information Tour for Media Representatives

The global challenge, COVID-19 especially highlighted the important role of medical and media professionals in public health and dissemination of accurate information. On July 8-9 the representatives of both professions met at the event, organized by the Tbilisi State Medical University, at the Hotel Ambassadori. In frames of the conference, accumulated experience in the fight against the virus was shared. Professor Irakli Kokhreidze, TSMU Vice Rector made a presentation about the medical university and highlighted its contribution to the fight against the pandemic. “The First University Clinic academic staff, students and graduates contributed to the fight against the virus. They were standing at the nearest locations to the occupied territories of Georgia, at the Rukhi Hospital” – noted the Vice Rector.

“During the pandemic situation the First University Clinic admitted the most critical, nearly 200 covid-infected patients”, said Professor Levan Ratiani, Director of the First University Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University.

In frames of the event press representatives were acquaintance with the first aid training. The audience was taught how to manage critical situations including indirect cardiac massage, artificial respiration, also stop bleeding techniques and other issues. The training was interesting and the audience expressed desire to conduct similar trainings on an even larger scale.
