Tbilisi State Medical University hosted representatives of the European Academy of Teachers in General Practice/Family Medicine (EURACT). The international meeting, held at TSMU, was attended by guests from 15 European countries.

Participants shared insights and experiences related to the teaching of family medicine and communication skills in their respective countries. Special attention was paid to contemporary educational approaches in the field, including the integration of digital teaching methods and the adoption of modern standards for curriculum development.

Professor Givi Javashvili, Head of the Department of Family Medicine of TSMU, introduced the guests to the communication skills training process and the teaching methods already implemented at the university.

During the meeting, participants also discussed potential avenues for future collaboration.

EURACT is the largest European organization uniting educators in family medicine from over 40 countries. Its primary mission is to enhance the quality of family medicine education through the development and implementation of innovative teaching methods and by fostering international cooperation.
