On October 1, 2020 Rostock University Professor, Arndt Rolfs, CEO and founder of the leader European genetic diagnostic laboratory Centogen AG visited TSMU. Professor Arndt Rolfs has been leading rare disease biomarkers clinical research project with Professor Tinatin Tkemaladze, Head of Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics of TSMU for the last three years. German Professor was met by Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU Rector, Professor Zurab Orjonikidze, TSMU Chancellor, Vice Rectors: Professor Khatuna Todadze and Associate Professors Sophia Bakhtadze and Irakli Kokhreidze. The guest was also met by Professor Rusudan Rukhadze, Dean of the Medicine Faculty, Irina Kapetivadze, Head of the Rector’s Office, and Nina Mariamidze, Head of the Department of Economics.
Professor Zurab Vadachkoria introduced the guest structure of TSMU and noted important achievements of the medical university as a leader university not only in Georgia but in Caucasian Region either. Professor Arndt Rolfs expressed his interest to collaborate and make joint scientific project with TSMU and establish Genome Research Institute which will be one of the most important events for TSMU scientific research activities.
