On April 8, professors from the
Medical University of Vienna (Austria) held public lectures at Tbilisi State
Medical University, focusing on the modern diagnosis of epilepsy, treatment
methods and surgical interventions for epilepsy.
Prior to the commencement of the
event, Professor Irakli Natrosvhili, Rector of TSMU expressed his gratitude to
the professors of the Medical University of Vienna for their visit and for
sharing their professional expertise.
Associate Professor Ekaterine
Pataraia, Department of Neurology of the Medical University of Vienna, Head
of the Epilepsy Unit at the Vienna University Clinic and TSMU alumna delivered
a lecture: "Epilepsy: Modern Diagnostic Methods and Therapeutic
Approaches."
Associate Professor Christian
Dorfer, Department of Neurosurgery of the Medical University of Vienna,
presented a lecture: "Epilepsy Surgery – Where Are We Now?"
The professors reviewed current
therapeutic approaches and emerging diagnostic technologies in the treatment of
epilepsy. Special emphasis was placed on surgical interventions and global
innovations in epilepsy management.
The public lectures were attended by
students, academic staff, and administrative personnel of TSMU.
