Open Door Day – “Use of Low Frequency Electro stimulation (IVES) in Restoring Functional Motion”

On September 19, 2019 TSMU organized Open Door Day – “Use of Low Frequency Electro stimulation (IVES) in Restoring Functional Motion” within the framework of International Festival for Science and Innovation. Schoolchildren from various schools of Tbilisi, interested in contemporary approaches in physical rehabilitation attended the event. Prof. Lela Maskhulia, Dean of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Faculty opened the event and talked about the role of physical medicine in the medicine generally, ongoing projects and planned innovations on the faculty. The guests were especially interested in the contemporary method of treatment of muscular atrophy and pain – IVES. The guests also got acquainted with the basic methods of physical therapy: electro-, magneto-, mechanic-, vacuum-, laser-, ultrasound, phono- and electrophoresis therapies and rehabilitation exercises.
