The Department of Eye Diseases of Tbilisi State
Medical University, together with partner clinics, conducted another round of
free endocrinological and ophthalmological examinations for war and defense
forces veterans and their family members living in Sachkhere and Chiatura. The
charity event was attended by Professor Nino Karanadze, Head
of the Department of Eye Diseases of TSMU and laboratory assistant Nino
Jankarashvili. They examined 134 beneficiaries and
performed diagnostic tests. Additionally, 268 optical eyeglasses
and 22 glucometers were distributed free of charge to war
veterans and their family members.
A Memorandum of Cooperation
between the TSMU Department of Eye Diseases and the Lion’s Eye Diabetic
Clinic Georgia was signed in 2016, organized by the State
Service of Veterans Affairs. Within the framework of this memorandum,
over the past eight years, the TSMU Department of Eye Diseases
and the Lion’s Eye Diabetic Clinic Georgia have jointly conducted 35
charity medical campaigns, providing qualified medical
assistance to 4,368 beneficiaries.
