The 5th Caucasus Teaching Course on Child Neurology was organized in Tbilisi

On November 18-19 the 5th Caucasus Teaching Course on Child Neurology was organized in Tbilisi. The course was organized by EPNS (European Pediatric Neurology Association). The local organizer was Professor Sophia Bakhtadze, Vice Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University and Head of the Department of Pediatric Neurology. The hybrid course was attended by 60 attendees in person and 300 online participants from 30 countries of the world. The topic was “The Neurological Approach to Disorders of Language and Behaviour in School-aged Children”. 

Professor Alasdair Parker, University of Cambridge (UK), Professor Philippe Paquier, the Free University of Brussels (Belgium), Professor Coriene Catsman-Berrevoets, Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), Professor Francisco Carratala Marco, the University of Alicante (Spain), Biayna Sukhudyan, Arabkir Medical Center (Armenia), Professor Sophia Bakhtadze, Tbilisi State Medical University (Georgia), Professor Tinatin Tchincharauli, Ilia State University (Georgia) presented reports. Diverse clinical cases were discussed within the framework of the course. Kakha Bregvadze, a doctoral student of Tbilisi State Medical University, won first place for presenting the best clinical case. A young participant from Ukraine, Alexander Miroshenko won second place. 

The course was accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and was awarded with 12 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Professor Sophia Bakhtadze, Vice Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the European Pediatric Neurological Society for the successful organization of the course in Tbilisi.
