TSMU Delegation at AMEE Conference (Vienna 2019)

On August 25-29, 2019 International Association for Medical Education (AMEE) Conference was organized in Vienna (Austria). Delegation from Tbilisi State Medical University, Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU Rector (25-27 August), Vice Rectors Professors Rima Beriashvili and Khatuna Todadze, Prof. Gaiane Simonia, Head of Department of Medical Education, Research and Strategic Development and Salome Voronova, Deputy Head of Department of Medical Education, Research and Strategic Development participated in the conference. TSMU delegation presented report: “Renewal of Undergraduate MD Curriculum based on National Standards of Medical Education in Georgia”.

Tbilisi State Medical University presented display stand dedicated to the opening of AMEE International Networking Center in Georgia, at TSMU. Prof. Trevor Gibbs was named as a new AMEE president, who was the initiator and supporter of establishing AMEE Center and held the first ESME course (Essential Skills in Medical Education) at Tbilisi State Medical University. 

The members of TSMU delegation met with the International Partners – Prof. David Gordon, President of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), Prof. Trude Roberts, AMEE ex-president, Prof. Richard Fuller, University of Liverpool and invited lecturer at TSMU, Prof. Olle Ten Cate, University Medical Center Utrecht and professor at California University.
