On March 21 2018, Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, the Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, met Prof. Olivier Piot, the Head of the Laboratory of Biophotonics and Technologies of the Department of Biophysics of the University (Reims, France). The guest was accompanied by Professor Diana Dzidziguri, Head of Biology Department of Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Associate Professors: Pavle Chelidze, Irina Modebadze and Ekaterine Bakuradze. The meeting was attended by Irina Kapetivadze, Head of the Department of International Relations of TSMU, Associate Professor Lia Dzidziguri Director of Givi Zhvania Academic Clinic of Pediatrics, and Giorgi Ghibradze Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Professor Olivier Piot delivered lectures on: "Vibrational Spectroscopy and Diagnostic Methods of Visualization in Biology and Medicine", and "Vibrational Spectroscopy and Visualization; What Type of Molecular Information Can Be Obtained from Spectral Data", for TSMU students and other interested specialists at TSMU. The lectures were very interesting for the attendees. They expressed their gratitude to TSMU administration for organizing the lectures of the French Professor.  They talked about mutual cooperation plans and crossing areas between Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Tbilisi State Medical University for implementation joint projects in research and scientific fields. Professor Olivier Piot welcomed the idea of cooperation and expressed willingness to arrange a joint memorandum that can become the basis for implementation of many joint projects in the future.
