The
Department of Ophthalmology of Tbilisi State Medical University in
collaboration with partner clinics, conducted another round of free
endocrinological and ophthalmological examinations for war and defense forces
veterans and their family members residing in the Dusheti Municipality.
The
charity event was attended by Professor Nino Karanadze, Head of the Department
of Ophthalmology and Nino Jangharashvili, laboratory assistant. They examined
the health conditions of 69 beneficiaries and carried out relevant diagnostic
investigations. In addition, war veterans and their family members living in
Dusheti Municipality received 140 pairs of eyeglasses and 17 glucometers free
of charge.
The
Memorandum of Cooperation between the Department of Ophthalmology of Tbilisi
State Medical University and the Lions Eye Diabetic Clinic “Georgia” was signed
in 2016 under the auspices of the State Service for Veterans Affairs. Within
the framework of this memorandum, over the past eight years, the TSMU
Department of Ophthalmology and the Lions Eye Diabetic Clinic “Georgia” have
jointly organized 34 charitable medical campaigns, providing qualified medical
assistance to a total of 4,234 beneficiaries.
