TSMU American MD Program students had three-week internship at Emory University (USA). The program was elaborated deliberately for Georgian students to make them acquaintance with American medical education system and clinical teaching. Archil Undilashvili (Program Director, US MD Program) stated: “Project “Summer/Winter in Emory” gives TSMU students opportunity to make acquaintance with American Health System and Medical Education. In February, 2020 11th group of TSMU MD Program students will leave for Emory University to attend lectures and seminars and participate in clinical teaching process at Emory School of Medicine (USA)”.

Project “Summer/Winter in Emory” is an agreement between TSMU and Emory School of Medicine to give students rotation opportunities via Emory bases. The project annually gives 10 best MD Program students opportunities to leave for Emory School of Medicine for internship. The project started in 2014 in frames of “Become a Doctor” MD Program. Eka Ekaladze (Director of American MD Program) noted: The project gives motivation and opportunity to MD program students that they can become a member of a big professional team. The administration of Tbilisi State Medical University financially supports the project and gives opportunity best students to leave for the USA and make acquaintance with American Health System. Hopefully, the project will financially support more students in the nearest future. Emory School of Medicine is a strong partner of TSMU”.
