From August 4 to August 24, 2024, Tbilisi State Medical University Faculty of Medicine students, under the supervision of Nino Jankharashvili, a laboratory assistant in the Department of Ophthalmology, participated in a summer clinical internship at Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Clinic, Rize (Turkey).
The students underwent clinical internship in the Gynecology and Cardiology Departments and Emergency Medical Care. Within the framework of the internship the TSMU students attended consultations, checkups and surgeries, performed diverse manipulations and discussed interesting clinical cases with the clinic's professors. The students also visited the simulation center equipped with advanced technologies. Professor Cüneyt Ardic, Head of the simulation center expressed a desire for future collaboration.
After completing their clinical internship, the TSMU students received positive feedback from Professor Yusuf Yilmaz, the Rector of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Professor Nebi Gumus, Vice Rector of the Recep Tayyip Erdogan University and the administrative and medical staff of the clinic.
The students of Tbilisi State Medical University were awarded certificates for successfully completing their summer clinical internship. In return, the students from the Faculty of Medicine presented Georgian-language books as gifts to the Department of Georgian Language and Literature at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University.
