TSMU Professors at the European Congress of Internal Medicine (ECIM 2026)

Professor Tamar Khandashvili, Head of the Department of Internal Medicine №3 of Tbilisi State Medical University participated as a specially invited guest in her capacity as President of the Georgian Association of Therapists at the European Congress of Internal Medicine (ECIM 2026), held in Vienna.

Professor Tamar Khandashvili contributed to the congress both as a scientific speaker and as Chair of a pulmonology session. She also participated in the General Assembly of the European Federation of Internal Medicine. Seven scientific papers were presented by the TSMU professors of the Department of Internal Medicine №3 at the congress.

TSMU representatives were actively engaged in EFIM’s scientific and clinical workshops, as well as in professional meetings. They attended a wide range of contemporary scientific lectures addressing the latest advancements and modern approaches in internal medicine. Discussions emphasized the importance of coordinated and targeted efforts to advance internal medicine both across Europe and beyond.

This year’s congress was among the largest of its kind, covering nearly all fields within internal medicine. The event brought together 41 national medical societies from around the world.
