Professor Nino Karanadze, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology of Tbilisi State Medical University, participated in the European Dry Eye Congress (EuDEC) 2026, organized by the European Dry Eye Society (EuDES). The congress was held in Milan, Italy, from 18–20 June 2026.

As part of the congress programme, working meetings were held with the Society's industrial partners and sponsors. The discussions focused on prospects for expanding international collaboration, innovative therapeutic approaches for the management of dry eye disease, advances in diagnostic technologies, and opportunities to support scientific research in the field.

The European Dry Eye Society (EuDES) brings together leading European experts dedicated to advancing the science and clinical management of dry eye disease. Society promotes the development of scientific knowledge, strengthens international professional collaboration, and supports continuing medical education. Its activities include the organization of international congresses, webinars, and educational programmes that facilitate the integration of the latest scientific advances into clinical practice, ultimately contributing to improved patient care. As of 2026, EuDES has more than 4,000 members from 127 countries worldwide.

The annual European Dry Eye Congress serves as an important international platform for the exchange of scientific knowledge, the promotion of professional collaboration, and the advancement of evidence-based clinical practice in the field of ocular surface disease.
