Tbilisi State Medical University celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026 during a commencement ceremony held on July 9, bringing together graduates, their families and friends, academic and administrative staff, distinguished guests, and members of the University community. 684 graduates completed their studies in the Faculties of Medicine, Stomatology, Pharmacy, Public Health, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the bachelor’s Programmes in Nursing and Midwifery.

Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, opened the ceremony. The TSMU Rector congratulated the graduates on their achievement and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and lifelong learning throughout their careers. The Rector also emphasized that graduation represents not the end of education, but the beginning of continuous professional development.

"Medicine is a profession in which knowledge evolves every day, responsibility never diminishes, and every decision may affect a person's health and life," Professor Irakli Natroshvili stated. He encouraged graduates to remain committed to evidence-based medicine, continuous learning, and patient-centered care, reminding them that they now carry both the privilege and the responsibility of society's trust.

The graduates also received congratulatory messages from Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia; Zviad Gabisonia, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia; Zaza Lominadze, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Healthcare and Social Issues and Vladimer Kakhadze, First Deputy Chair of the Committee. The speakers highlighted the vital role of healthcare professionals in society and wished the graduates success in their future careers.

The Deans of the Faculties of Medicine, Stomatology, Pharmacy, Public Health, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, together with the Bachelor's Programmes in Nursing and Midwifery, also congratulated the graduates, emphasizing TSMU's longstanding contribution to educating highly qualified healthcare professionals for Georgia and the international medical community.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the Academic Robing Ceremony. The oath was taken collectively by all 684 graduates, reaffirming their commitment to professional ethics, lifelong learning, and the protection of human life and health. The ceremony concluded with the traditional cap toss, symbolizing the successful completion of the graduates' academic journey and the beginning of a new chapter in their professional lives.
