Tbilisi State Medical University and the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu Mureș agreed on expanding their partnership during the visit of Romanian professors to TSMU from March 24 to 28.
Within the framework of the visit, the Romanian professors participated in several significant meetings. One of the initial meetings took place at the Department of Pathophysiology of TSMU. Both parties found the similarities in their scientific research components particularly noteworthy, leading to plans for joint participation in grant-funded research competitions and the publication of collaborative scientific papers.
The professors took part in seminar-based teaching sessions for 4th and 5th-semester medical students at the Department of Pathophysiology. The guests also visited the Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center, where they were introduced to the specifics of conducting the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
The delegation also held discussions with representatives of the International Cooperation Department of TSMU. The parties deliberated on the existing partnership and new projects planned under the ERASMUS+ Credit Mobility framework for 2026. Further collaboration opportunities were also discussed with West University of Timișoara, one of the institutions within the Universitaria Consortium (a network of Romania’s elite universities), as well as with Ovidius University of Constanța.
The visit of the Romanian professors to TSMU was carried out within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Credit Mobility Project.
