Paris Val de Marne University student, Emmanuelle Jault completed a two-week practical course in surgery within the framework of ERASMUS + international credit mobility supported by the Tbilisi State Medical University

Within the framework of ERASMUS + international credit mobility and supported by the Tbilisi State Medical University, Paris Val de Marne University student Emmanuelle Jault visited Georgia. The international student completed a two-week internship at the Department of Surgery (TSMU) under the agreement signed between TSMU and Paris Val de Marne University.

Emmanuelle Jault said, TSMU had been recommended by other international students, so she decided to take an internship in Georgia. She even wanted to extend mobility for a few weeks. "The practice I have received in Georgia has strengthened my self-confidence that I am able to become a professional surgeon. I will do my best to reach the goal”.

In addition to interesting experience and practical knowledge, I have discovered Georgian culture and hospitality. I have managed to quickly adapt to foreign environment which is a very important skill for a doctor.

“I have been here for two weeks and it is a great experience for my professional development. I would have gladly extended period of staying in Georgia” – said Emmanuelle Jault.

Professor Gia Tomadze, Department of Surgery (TSMU) noted that Emmanuelle Jault was given opportunity to gain surgical experience in Georgia and be involved in working with patients.

“Working with doctors is a useful experience for a student. Emmanuelle was given opportunity to lead the patient at examination and make appointments. She is very interested in surgery. She was even eager to continue the practice," said the professor.

Tbilisi State Medical University has been implementing exchange programs funded by the European Commission within the framework of Erasmus + KA 107 activity since 2015 (including individual mobility in partner universities).
