Congress of Laboratory Medicine at TSMU

On June 8, Congress of the Laboratory Medicine was organized at Tbilisi State Medical University. The congress was attended by the local members and regional delegates. The event was opened by Emeritus Tinatin Bukia. Prof. Nana Kotchlavashvili, the Head of TSMU Residency Department and Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuous Professional Development Institute was assigned as the chairperson.The professor talked about 21-year history, the role and the development process of the association. Prof. Kotchlashvili noted the essential meaning of the laboratory medicine program and examination process of the modules. She also highlighted the contribution of Prof. Tinatin Bukia and the members of association in the development process of laboratory medicine program.

Prof. Gaiane Simonia, The Head of TSMU Research and Strategic Development Department talked about the perspectives of further development process of the laboratory medicine at TSMU. The congress was also attended by Madona Jorbenadze, the Chief Specialist of Georgian Accreditation Center. Prof. Tinatin Bukia presented the annual report. Later Association’s President Election was held and the Emeritus Tinatin Bukia was elected unanimously.
