TSMU Pharmacy Faculty PhD student, Giorgi Jgerenaia participated in the international competition

TSMU Pharmacy Faculty PhD student, Giorgi Jgerenaia under the supervision of the Associate Professor, Lasha Mskhiladze, participated in the international competition “Scholarship for Young Doctoral Students”, organized by the Embassy of France in Georgia and the “Campus France”. PhD student was at the Institute for Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases, Toulouse (France) From September 16, till December 15 2020.  In framework of the project, Giorgi performed in vitro – biological researches. The PhD student used innovative methods to study the secondary metabolites of some species of the genus Allium in Georgia. Also obtained, total extract and enriched fractions from the study objects: cytoprotective, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-atherosclerotic action in vitro and RT-qPCR studies on different cell cultures.
