Technical Assistance Training at Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation

On June 22-26, Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation conducted technical assistance training in quality management of rehabilitation services.

The training was led by the international non-governmental organization Humanity & Inclusive (HI), that helps to prevent disabilities, treats people with disabilities and supports them in their journey towards autonomy and social integration. HI's Inclusion has developed a know-how and expertise in the field of rehabilitation that is implemented at international level in its countries of intervention or trough studies and technical support requested by third parties;

The administrative staff of Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation has been trained within the framework of the ongoing "Physical Rehabilitation Project in Georgia" (organized by  "Partners for International Development").This technical assistance will allow rehabilitation services of Ken Walker Clinic to implement a qualitative approach in the management of their rehabilitation services. The overall purpose of the Rehabilitation Management System (RMS) is to assist rehabilitation service provider in effective and strategic management of its services in order to provide the highest quality care in the most sustainable manner.

Emory University is the primary implementer of the 'Physical Rehabilitation Project in Georgia' together with its main partners, Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU), Coalition for Independent Living (CIL), Partners for International Development (PfID) and MAC Georgia. The project is implemented with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The specific objectives of the project are to:

Strengthen capacity of existing and emerging physical rehabilitation professionals; Strengthen physical rehabilitation and Assistive Technology (AT) services and referral pathways; Improve state policies on physical rehabilitation. 

The goal of the activities is to expand access to quality, affordable physical rehabilitation services and assistive technologies in Georgia, which contributes to the long-term goal to improve the quality of life and independence of persons with disabilities to enable them to participate in all aspects of society.

Ken Walker Clinic is equipped with American high-tech rehabilitation equipment. From July 1st,2020 Ken Walker Clinic offers rehabilitation services for adults and children in Tbilisi, #4 Gudamakari Str. 

Regarding COVID 19 the environment at Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation is in fully compliance with the recommendations of the National Center for Health and Disease Control and the National Center for Public Health.
