Representatives of TSMU Molecular and Medical Genetics Department Participated in European Human Genetics Conference ESHG 2019

On June 15-18, 2019 Assoc. Professors Eka Kvaratskhelia and Tinatin Tkemaladze, Invited Lecturer Ketevan Kartvelishvili and Medicine Faculty Students: Merab Kvintradze and Sandro Surmava participated in European Human Genetics Conference (ESHG) in Gothenburg (Sweden). The delegates presented five poster reports,  Assoc. Prof. Tinatin Tkemaladze held workshop based on Georgian patient case attended by more than 200 participants and assessed as one of the most interactive and successful workshops. Assoc. Prof. Tkemaladze was elected as the member of FDNA Scientific Advisors Council. She participated in the meeting and planned development of scientific projects and workshops for Georgian students and doctors in Georgia. DNA Experts Prof. Abzianidze, Assoc. Professors Kvaratskhelia and Tkemaladze were thanked for evaluating DNA competition organized in Tbilisi. The presentation, dedicated to Georgian population DNA was interesting for the audience. Professors from various European universities discussed the presentation and expressed their interest to conduct DNA tests in Georgia. Prof. Martina Korneli suggested to public the article in the scientific journal, “Journal of Community Genetics“(https://link.springer.com/journal/12687).
