First Aid Training at the Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation

On August 27, First Aid Training was held at the Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation in frames of USAID and EMORY “Physical Rehabilitation Project”. The aim of the training was to teach theoretical and practical elements of first aid and save lives of patients before arriving the emergency. The training was held by the field specialist, Kinga Korkhovietz. 

Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation is equipped with high-tech rehabilitation infrastructure. The clinic is supported by the USAID “Physical Rehabilitation Project”, the Emory University School of Medicine (USA, Atlanta) in partnership with Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU), Partnership for International Development (PFID) and The Coalition for Independent (CIL).  The aim of the project is development of physical rehabilitation service based on innovative technologies in Georgia.

In frames of Physical Rehabilitation Project development of professional programmes

and reinforcement of TSMU rehabilitation faculty is envisaged. The TSMU rehabilitation structural units are located at the Clinic.

The aim of USAID projects is to support development of independency and democracy in Georgia, also accelerate economic advancement and strengthen education and health institutions in the country.
