On December 23, 2022 a solemn event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Professor Tamar Dekanosidze was organized at Tbilisi State Medical University. The event was chaired by TSMU graduate, Dr. Johnny Janashia. 

Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of TSMU said: “Via Traditions to the Future” is the slogan of Tbilisi State Medical University expressing the combination of the past experiences and innovations. These issues are the most reliable support for education, medical practice and scientific work. These traditions did not emerge themselves but were created by the professors and researchers of the medical university. One of the most outstanding academicians of TSMU was Tamar Dekanosidze. She was one of the most important scientists, teachers, mentors and doctors of Tbilisi State Medical University. Academician Tamar Dekanosidze was a progressive thinking scientist and field professional”. Professors Ramaz Chikhladze, Amiran Gamkrelidze, Dimitri Kordzaia, Maguli Chkhobadze, Revaz Kapanadze, Rima Beriashvili, the First Deputy Chair of the Health Committee Vladimir Kakhadze, member of the Parliament of Georgia Nato Chkheidze, Emeritus Besik Kilasonia, Academician Guram Bekaia, MD Zaza Topuria and TSMU graduate Giorgi Chumburidze remembered their teacher and famous scientist of Georgia. 

Film “Essay for Descendants” was shown at the event. The film was shot in 2016 and tells about the life and work of Academician Tamar Dekanosidze.
