Principles of Research Ethics – Training for the Academic Staff of Tbilisi State Medical University

Professor Sophia Bakhtadze, Vice-Rector for Research of Tbilisi State Medical University, conducted a two-day training course for the University’s academic staff on the following topics: Principles of research project writing and research integrity; Criteria for evaluating “predatory” journals and “predatory” conferences.

Within the framework of the event, Professor Sophia Bakhtadze provided a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles of research proposal development, the stages of preparing a scientific publication, and the purpose underpinning scholarly dissemination. Emphasis was placed on the criteria for selecting an appropriate academic journal, the significance and proper interpretation of the impact factor and the role of research integrity in the contemporary academic environment.

The training aimed to enhance the awareness and competencies of academic staff in planning high-quality research, effectively disseminating research findings and upholding ethical standards in scholarly activity.

The event was dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The second stage of the training will be held on 19–20 February.
