Tbilisi State Medical University is visited by the students of the University of Hamburg, Ana Macharashvili and Leandra Lillie. The students underwent the first stage of clinical internship in the Department of Surgery of TSMU.
“It has been a great professional experience for me. I am so glad that my decision about undergoing an internship in Georgia has been proved. I will undoubtedly apply obtained experience and skills in my country when I keep on working as a doctor. Generally, I have visited Georgia three times so far. I would like to express my passion about your country. I love Georgia and the hospitality of the Georgian people” – said Leandra Lillie.
“I am a citizen of Georgia. Nevertheless, I have been studying in Germany for six years and I know the healthcare system of Germany well. I have always been interested in returning to Georgia in order to undergo an internship. I like the internship program here, as I can communicate with patients every day, introduce the patients' anamnesis and ways of treatment. I have also attended surgeries and sometimes assisted surgeons. I think the internship is very beneficial for me” said Ana Macharashvili.
Assoc. Prof. Levan Gopodze, Department of Surgery of TSMU has been coordinating the students of the University of Hamburg.
“The students of the University of Hamburg attended surgeries and assisted doctors. I am sure the internship will make an impact on their further professional development” said Assoc. Prof. Levan Gopodze.
The students of the University of Hamburg are rotated to the General Surgery Department of the First University Clinic of the Tbilisi State Medical University to undergo the next stage of their internship.
