International ECHO Platform representatives visit TSMU

The Rector and academic staff of Tbilisi State Medical University hosted representatives of the international platform ECHO from the University of New Mexico. The meeting, held at TSMU, served as an introductory session between the two institutions.

During the discussion, the parties explored ways to expand existing cooperation and to implement joint initiatives within future projects. Emphasis was placed on the integration of artificial intelligence into the ongoing initiatives between the two platforms.

Representatives of the University of New Mexico and the project administrator highlighted that the ECHO model represents one of the world’s leading practices in disseminating healthcare information and plays a crucial role in community education and awareness-raising processes. It was also noted that the use of the ECHO platform will help strengthen connections with the Georgian diaspora and TSMU alumni.

The University of New Mexico’s ECHO program has been successfully implementing this innovative model for over 21 years. As part of the program, professors and the project administrator from the University are currently visiting Georgia to deliver a two-day training for TSMU’s academic and clinical staff on effective communication and public relations.
