From May 11 to 15, 2026 Professor Claudiu Mărgăritescu, MD, PhD, Professor of Pathology at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova (Romania), visited Tbilisi State Medical University within the framework of the ERASMUS+ program.
Professor Claudiu Mărgăritescu delivered public lectures at the TSMU Department of Pathology for students of the Faculties of Medicine and Stomatology, as well as for clinical residents and early-career pathologists.
The professor introduced the audience to contemporary approaches and clinical-pathomorphological characteristics regarding the following topics:
• Non-neoplastic pathology of the salivary glands;
• Cystic lesions of the maxilla and mandible;
• Benign odontogenic tumors;
• Pathology of the dental pulp.
The sessions were conducted in an interactive format, facilitating engaging discussions on issues of both theoretical and practical significance. The lectures and presentations were interesting for the students and the broader academic community.
As part of the visit, Professor Claudiu Mărgăritescu met with Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of TSMU, Professor Rima Beriashvili, Head of the Faculty Development and Strategic Planning Department and Head of the Pathology Department and Associate Professor Tinatin Kilasonia, Head of the International Cooperation Division of the International Relations Department. The parties discussed perspectives for future collaboration, including opportunities for implementing joint scientific research projects and deepening professional ties.
