On June 12 conference series were organized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pharmacy directions. During the event, students presented the results of their research through both oral and poster presentations.
Within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation section, young researchers delivered presentations on a range of contemporary issues in the field. Topics included the role of biophysics, biomechanics, and information technologies in the rehabilitation process; modern approaches to the conservative management of idiopathic scoliosis; rehabilitation strategies for common discogenic pathologies in sports medicine; and the clinical and functional assessment and rehabilitation principles of adhesive capsulitis.
A significant part of the presentations focused on the management of post-myocardial infarction risk factors within cardiac rehabilitation programs, the impact of knee joint pathologies on functional independence in geriatric patients, strategies for managing urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women following hip arthroplasty, and the influence of rehabilitation intensity on motor function recovery during the subacute phase of stroke.
In the Pharmacy section, students presented research on several important topics in pharmaceutical sciences. Presentations addressed the role of pharmacists in the rational management of medicinal products, the investigation of the chemical composition and mineralization of natural waters, and modern methods for determining fungicide residues in agricultural crops.
The Student Scientific Conference series comprises seven sections. The three highest-ranked participants from each section will advance to the University Student Scientific Conference, which will be held at Tbilisi State Medical University on June 24. The winners will be recognized during a ceremonial awards event on June 25.
According to the conference results, abstracts submitted by the winning students will be published in a scientific journal, contributing to the promotion of young researchers’ scientific activities and showcasing their academic achievements.
