On January 5, 2014, the meeting with David Sergeenko, Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, organized by initiative of Medical Associations and held at Tbilisi State Medical University,  was attended by: Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Zurab Orjonikidze, TSMU Chancellor, Presidents of Medical Associations and the health-care workers from all over Georgia .

The representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, listened to questions and point of views of practicing physicians in connection with the establishment of the Institute of prescription. Two versions and the electronic form of prescription (Form N3) were presented to the audience.

According to David Sergeenko, Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, there was existed prescription writing system, but this culture was somehow destroyed and forgotten, however, the prescription perfectly regulates the relationship between patient and physician.

Returning prescription to our reality will have positive results: reducing severe cases caused by self-treatment, pharmacy drug addiction, avoiding unauthorized changes in the prescription. The doctors were explained in what language and how to fill in the prescription, how to explain prescription using rules to the patient.

The Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs realizes gradual changes to return to the system of prescriptions on the background of relatively less problems. Electronic versions of the recipes will be available at the official web-site of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs. According to David Sergeenko,  a similar meeting, which will discuss all comments and suggestions will be held in the near future.
