Memorandum of Cooperation signed between LEPL National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and LEPL Tbilisi State Medical University

On June 21, 2017 the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between LEPL National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and LEPL Tbilisi State Medical University. Memorandum was signed by Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University and Mrs.Tamar Sanikidze, Director of National Center for Educational and Quality Enhancement. The aim of the Memorandum is carrying out TSMU assessment process with the involvement of international experts for effective implementation of the renewed authorization mechanism.

Meeting was attended by: Employees of National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement: Lasha Margishvili, Head of Higher Education Quality Assurance Service; Keti Tsotniashvili, Head of Authorization Division of Higher Education Quality Assurance Service; Nino Begiashvili Head of Legal Service;  Professor Zurab Orjonikidze, Chancellor of Tbilisi State Medical University; Vice-Rectors: Professor Khatuna Todadze and Professor Rima Beriashvili; Professor Gaiane Simonia, Head of Strategic Development Department; Professor Irine Kvachadze Head of Quality Assurance Gepartment, and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Tinatin Chikovani.

Mrs. Tamar Sanikidze noted that the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement together with Tbilisi State Medical University are actively working towards the international recognition of medical education received in Georgia till 2023.  

Professor Zurab Vadachkoria described all global processes scheduled towards the international accreditation of medical education. According to Professor Zurab Vadachkoria Tbilisi State Medical University will carry out all the work necessary to get the International accreditation and meet the standarts defined by World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) in 2023.
