Tbilisi State Medical University residents at University Hospital of Sassari (Italy)

Tbilisi State Medical University residents spent the 2023/24 academic year in University Hospital of Sassari (Italy) within the framework of ERASMUS K171 mobility. 

The agreement between the Tbilisi State Medical University and University of Sassari gave the TSMU residents the opportunity to undergo a five-month internship in various departments of University Hospital of Sassari: 

Salome Gogichaishvili, a resident of TSMU Residency Program in Pediatrics underwent internship in the Department of Pediatrics of University Hospital of Sassari

Ketevan Paposhvili, a resident of TSMU Residency Program in Neurology underwent internship in the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology of University Hospital of Sassari

Ketevan Chichua a resident of TSMU Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology underwent internship in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine of University Hospital of Sassari

Inga Metreveli, a resident of TSMU Residency Program in Radiology – the Department of Radiology of University Hospital of Sassari

Lali Esebua, a resident of TSMU Residency Program in Rheumatology –  the Department of Rheumatology of University Hospital of Sassari.

Tbilisi State University residents highlighted that, during their 5-month practical and theoretical internship, they were provided with the opportunity to collaborate with leading specialists in their fields. As a result, they studied the latest methods in diagnostics, treatment, and management, gaining insight into the specifics of the Italian healthcare system.

After completing their internship, Tbilisi State University residents Lali Esebua and Ketevan Chichua received commendation letters from Professor Giampiero Capobianco, the Director of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of University Hospital of Sassari and Professor Gian Luca Erre, the Director of Rheumatology Department of University Hospital of Sassari. According to the professors' evaluations, the practical experience gained during the internship has significantly enhanced the residents' skills and knowledge, making them well-prepared for competitive positions in both academic and clinical settings.
