Registration Now Open for the Elective Course “Preparation for a Scientific Career”

Tbilisi State Medical University, in partnership with the University of Hanover, is implementing an international project funded by the DAAD SDG Fund titledPreparing Georgian Students in Medicine and Biology for a Scientific Career in Life Sciences and Medicine.” As part of this initiative, registration has now opened for the elective course Preparation for a Scientific Career.”

The elective course is open to students in the 8th semester of the Medicine Program and the 2nd semester of the master’s program in Pharmacy.

Applicants must complete the Student Registration Form in English (Appendix 1) and submit two recommendation letters from faculty members or supervisors (Appendix 2).

The registration form should be sent by email to daad_sdg@tsmu.edu with the file name: "Application-[Student Last Name]".

Faculty members or supervisors should send their recommendation letters by email to daad_sdg@tsmu.edu with the file name: "Recommendation-[Student Last Name]".

The deadline for registration is February 20, 2024, at 22:00.

Based on the submitted registration documents, selected students will participate in interviews with local and international experts on February 27–28, 2024. The interviews will be conducted in English.

Students are required to have a minimum B2 level proficiency in English. Knowledge of German is not mandatory but will be considered an additional advantage during the selection process.

This elective course is designed to prepare students for subsequent individual research projects. Following the course, the most promising candidates will be selected in 2025 to:

1. Participate in the annual LISA Summer Academy at the University of Hanover Medical School.

2. Undertake a 6-month individual research project at Tbilisi State Medical University.
