Art Competition on the Theme of WNTD 2025

World No Tobacco Day is observed around the world every year on 31 May. The annual observance informs the public on the dangers of using tobacco, initiated by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The year 2025 holds particular significance, as it marks the 20th anniversary of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). Twenty years ago, Georgia became a signatory to this convention and has since been actively involved in the global fight against the tobacco epidemic.

To commemorate this important milestone, the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) announces an open competition for works of art.

The theme of WNTD is:

"Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products."

Competition Guidelines:

Submissions may be created in any artistic form, including but not limited to: painting, illustration, poster, collage, installation, musical composition, poetry, etc.;

The work must be original, and the author must grant permission for its publication;

Multiple submissions are allowed from a single participant;

Submissions may be created either manually or in digital format. Digitally submitted works must be of high resolution;

The content must reflect the 2025 WNTD theme and highlight manipulative tactics employed by the tobacco and nicotine industries;

Each submission must be accompanied by a brief description (annotation).

An online information session regarding the competition will be held on May 8 at 16:00.

Awards and Exhibition:

Selected works will be exhibited during the official WNTD 2025 event on May 31.

Winners will receive prizes, and all participants whose submissions meet the competition criteria will receive symbolic gifts.
