On May 17-18, 2014, another successful project was carried out to support the dentists working in the regions of Georgia. This event was organized by initiative of Professional Association of Dentists, Tbilisi State Medical University Departments of Odontology, Periodontics and Oral Mucosa Disorders and the doctors of Dental Clinic, Training and Research Center – UniDent.

The hall of the hotel was overcrowded by the people wishing to attend the Conference.  The event was attended by 165 dentists. They arrived from almost every towns of Samegrelo (Zugdidi, Abasha, Khobi, Senaki, Chkhoroktsu). The conference was attended by the staff of Zugdidi Independent University and academic staff of stomatology direction. Gia Danelia, M.D., Ph.D. Chief Doctor of Zugdidi Residency/Postgraduate Clinic, attended  the Conference together with his clinic staff and students.

The guests from Tbilisi State Medical University were welcomed and hosted by Irakli Lataria, Graduate from TSMU Faculty of Sromatology and Training and Research Center – UniDent and doctor-stomatologists working in Zugdidi.  

The audience listened to a series of lectures with a great interest and their activities have not slowed down all day long. The conference lasted for 7 hours (10:00-18:00). The 4th activity of Conference cycles “Stomatology with High Standards" was opened by Prof. Marina Mamaladze. She also delivered the first lecture, which was dedicated to the teeth restoration by modern adhesive systems and composites. Professor Manana Iverieli talked about allergic stomatitis and the principles of management. As always, lecture by Professor Nina Tchipashvili on pain management in ambulatory dentistry caused a great attention of the audience with. Conference papers cycle was completed the lecture by Associate Professor Nino Abashidze on rapidly progressive periodontitis and the basic principles of management.

Two informative presentations on application of  kholisal and trachisan in treatment of  dental diseases (Associate Professor Lali Jashi, Assistant Professor Khatia Gogishvili) were presented at the conference. The conference was sponsored by the same pharmaceutical companies Alpen Pharma and GEA. The 2nd day of the conference was very interesting as well. On May 18, Irakli Lataria hosted our delegation at  Dental Clinic "Medex" where the master - classes were held. Doctors: Tea Chumburidze and Tamar Zhghenti - demonstrated dental restoration of the teeth 1.1; 2.1 of by composite - Esthet-X HD.  Endodontic treatment of 1.6 tooth by the doctors Maya lomsianidzisa and Maka Kopaliani was very interesting, so the attending physicians were introduced to protocol of endodontic treatment. Prof. Manana Iverieli and Associate Professor Nino Abashidze provided consultation of patients.

Physicians Tea Janjalashvili and Lia Sanodze presented  the characteristics and principles for clinical usage of diode laser apparatus (Dr. Smile). At the same day, Professors : Marina Mamaladze and Nino Tchipashvili  were invited by Gia Danelia, M.D., Ph.D.  to visit Zugdidi Independent University and meet with academic staff of the University and doctor-stomatologists of Zugdidi. The question - answer session was conducted. Doctor-stomatologists were interested in key issues of regulations on practical and medical stomatology. The meeting was joind by Professors Manana Iverieli and Nino Abashidze.  The conversation lasted 3 hours and caused a greatest interest among the listeners. The visit was ended with showing around Dadiani Palace and beautiful landscapes fo Anaklia-Ganmukhuri.
