On July 4, 2018, H.E. Radu Liviu Horumba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Georgia, Prof. Leonard Azamfirei PhD, Rector of University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tirgu Mures and Prof. Angela Borda PhD Vice-Rector of University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tirgu Mures visited Tbilisi State Medical University. The guests met with Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Vice-Rectors: Prof. Khatuna Todadze, Professor Rima Beriashvili, Associate Professor Irakli Kokhreidze, and Irina Kapetvadze, Head of Rector's Office. Prof. Leonard Azamfirei thanked the Tbilisi State Medical University leadership for cordial welcome. The guests: Prof. Leonard Azamfirei and Prof. Angela Borda visited the First University Clinic of TSMU, Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulations Center, Pathology Laboratory for Teaching, Research and Diagnostics of TSMU and Laboratory of Scientific-Research and Practical Skills of the Faculty of Pharmacy and expressed hope on further development of collaboration between the Tbilisi State Medical University and University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tirgu Mures. Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University noted that Tbilisi State Medical University successfully collaborates with University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tirgu Mures within the framework of ERASMUS + and the desire and motivation for more close cooperation among the universities became obvious providing interesting perspective for developing and implementing joint programmes in both academic and research fields. Romanian guests expressed their readiness for long-term and fruitful cooperation. The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Tbilisi State Medical University and University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tirgu Mures, which was signed by the Rectors: Professors Zurab Vadachkoria and Professor Leonard Azamfirei. H.E. Radu Liviu Horumba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Georgia noted that friendship and long-term perspectives of cooperation between these Universities will support development of fruitful relationship between the two countries: Georgia and Romania. "We are ready to make every effort possible the students, academic and administrative staff of Tbilisi State Medical University to visit Romania to exchange experiences. At the same time visit to Georgia will be simplified for the students, academic and administrative staff of University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tirgu Mures as well. I do hope that this cooperation will bring great success to both sides”. At the end of the meeting Georgian and Romanian sides presented memorable gifts to each other.
