The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) delegation led by Col. Eli Lozano visited organizations involved in the partnership program of Emory University (Atlanta, USA). The goal of the visit was to strengthen new opportunities of collaboration in the fields of education and research. The delegation was hosted by Professor Archil Undilashvili, Head of the Physical Rehabilitation Policy and Strategic Management Department of TSMU and Educational Program Director of Emory University School of Medicine. Within the framework of the visit the guests visited TSMU American MD Program, Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation and Early Childhood Development Academy of TSMU.
Professor Archil Undilashvili presented a report on the 30-year partnership between Emory and Georgia at Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation. He emphasized the significant contribution of the cooperation to the development of the healthcare system of the country and medical education at university.
The delegation also visited Tbilisi State Medical University. Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of TSMU met the guests. They visited the American MD Program academic environment and attended OSCE. Asoc. Prof. Eka Ekaladze Director of US MD Program introduced the guests content of the program, achievements and perspectives of development.
Cooperation between US Walter Reed Army Research Institute and Tbilisi State Medical University was established in 2016, within the framework of the US MD Program. The partnership gives students an opportunity to visit the Richard M. Lugar Center for Public Health and get acquainted with the specific aspects of the laboratory research.
