On March 18, 2024 Assistant Professor Avtandil Bakradze Department of Orthodontics conducted a public lecture “Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry”. The lecture was attended by students, residents and academic staff of TSMU. The event was also attended by Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of TSMU, Professors Zurab Vadachkoria and Sophia Bakhtadze, Vice Rectors of TSMU, Assoc. Prof. Nana Kipiani, Dean of the Faculty of Stomatology and Professor Samson Mgebrishvili Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Stomatology.

Assistant Professor Avtandil Bakradze emphasized the role and benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine. He also presented his web application “Geocef”.  

"I am an author of the idea of the first artificial intelligence in dentistry. I dared to speak in public after receiving a confirmation letter from the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia on the web application” said Assistant Professor Avtandil Bakradze.

The author of the application emphasized, the application will assist doctors in terms of diagnosis, treatment planning and avoiding possible complications. The tool will increase the orthodontists’ motivation to implement the cephalometric analysis in practice. 

Anyone is welcome to use the application. After registration AI provides the doctor with comprehensive information about the patient based on cephalometric analysis.
