Professor Rusudan Beriashvili - the head of the Department of Forensic Medicine of TSMU, was visiting Uzbekistan in April 20-26, 2025, to conduct trainings for forensic physicians and prison doctors. 

The trainings were dedicated to the newly revised Istanbul Protocol and implementation of the Istanbul principles, for prevention and punishment of torture, inhuman and degrading treatment cases in closed institutions and detention places. 

Two two-days training courses were organized in the framework of the OSCE Project Co-Ordinator in Uzbekistan Rule of Law and Human Rights project in collaboration with the National Human Rights Center and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. The events were organized on April 21-22 in Termez and on April 24-25 in Fergana, Uzbekistan.
