Tbilisi State Medical University hosted a delegation from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Germany). The goal of the visit was to strengthen ongoing academic partnership between the two institutions.
Professor Tinatin Tkemaladze, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of TSMU met the guests - Rina Schlipphake, Head of the Department for Research and International Cooperation and Julian Zeppeli, representative of the Department of Research and Cooperation of Magdeburg University. Both parties agreed that the academic credits earned by TSMU students participating in exchange programs at German universities and clinics would be officially recognized. The delegation also held meetings with representatives from TSMU’s International Relations Department and the International Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry.
The guests also visited the Foreign Language Center, where they were introduced to the methodology of German language instruction. They also visited the “Museum of Life Sciences,” affiliated with the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics.
Magdeburg University has been a long-standing partner of TSMU. Currently, two TSMU students from the Faculty of Medicine are studying at Magdeburg University through the Erasmus+ KA171 mobility grant program.
