International Conference on Medical Education

Tbilisi State Medical University will host the International Conference on Medical Education, scheduled to take place over two days (30–31 October 2025). The primary aim of the two-day conference is to facilitate the exchange and critical discussion of experiences, challenges and innovative strategies within the ongoing process of the globalization of medical education, both in local and international contexts.

The objectives of the conference include:

·        Discussing contemporary approaches to teaching, assessment, and clinical training in collaboration with international experts;

·        Strengthening cooperation between Georgian and international professionals;

·        Promoting the enhancement of quality and strategic development in medical education;

·        Deepening engagement in the areas of social accountability and sustainability of medical education;

·        Examining the impact of globalization on standards of medical education, accreditation, ethics, and student well-being.

International experts in medical education from various countries will participate in the event:

·        Professor Harm Peters – President of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE);

·        Professor David Taylor – Expert of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), Head of the GULF Medical Education Centre;

·        Professor Trevor Gibbs – Former President and Expert of AMEE (the Association for Medical Education in Europe);

·        Professor Gordon Churchward – Emory University School of Medicine, USA;

·        Professor Mary Jo Lechowicz – Emory University School of Medicine, USA;

·        Professor Bhavin Adaniyahu – Specialist in Medical Education, Emory University, USA;

·        Professor Paul Horrocks – Programm Director in Medicine, Keele University School of Medicine, United Kingdom;

·        Dr. Anesh Zuchi – Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering, NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal.

The conference will bring together representatives of the field of medical education, professors and lecturers engaged in medical programs, researchers, employers, and medical students from Georgia and abroad.
