Professor Tamar Sanikidze, Head of the Department of Physics, Biophysics, Biomechanics and Information Technologies of Tbilisi State Medical University participated in the 8th International Symposium on Radiological Protection Systems (Abu Dhabi).
Professor Tamar Sanikidze presented
TSMU-based research: “Development of a Radiogenic Risk Model for Breast Cancer
in the Female Population of Georgia and Lifetime Risk Prediction in COVID-19
Infected Female Patients Based on Thoracic Computed Tomography.” This
innovative study is grounded in Georgian population data and received highly
positive evaluations from international experts.
During the symposium, participants
discussed avenues for future collaboration and outlined specific directions for
strengthening scientific partnerships. Plans were made to integrate TSMU’s
department into international research networks.
The international symposium brought
together leading organizations, including the International Commission on
Radiological Protection (ICRP) and the International Atomic Energy Agency
(IAEA), as well as experts from various countries worldwide.
